Indy's Sandwich is a relatively new restaurant that opened in South Portland in spring 2022. Indy's doesn't has a wide variety of sandwiches on their menu, not just banh mi, and even some other dishes like curry.
The Tam and Cam isn't a traditional banh mi sandwich. It's pressed on a panini press and the bread is ciabatta instead of the usual baguette. That being said, the fillings are very similar to a regular banh mi - ham, Vietnamese sausage, pickled veggies, jalapeños, cilantro, mayo and pate. I enjoyed getting to try this unusual take on the banh mi formula. It's a much neater sandwich to eat because the bread isn't flaky, and it's nice being able to taste everything in one bite since it's all compressed together.
While this is the only banh mi on Indy's menu right now, I definitely plan on going back to try their other dishes!
